From the Pastor’s Desk 9/8/2024

Dear St. Peters Family,

What an exciting time of year! It is a time of new beginnings. Our parish school has joyfully restarted for the year under the leadership of our new principal-Dr. Kevin Flanagan. Our Youth Ministry and our Faith Formation will be starting up again this month after the summer break. Many of our parish ministries which took a break for the summer will be recommencing the various ways we bring the Word and Mission of Jesus Christ to others. Additionally, our highly anticipated Parish Carnival will be here in a few weeks. This Carnival is our biggest fundraiser of the year and is always so successful due in great part to our amazing Carnival Committee! There are two ways they have reached out to me to ask you for support. The first is by volunteering to assist at the different game booths and the second is simply buying ride & raffle tickets. The yearly Carnival is such a fun way to support our wonderful parish! Thank you for your help and support making the 2024 Carnival a resounding success!

Continuing on the topic of new beginnings, it is an honor of my lifetime to be installed this weekend as the 6th pastor of Saint Peter’s. I am grateful to Cardinal Tobin for his trust in me as I become your pastor. I am also grateful to each of you. I have been here for 2 years and have learned so much from you and am very appreciative of the opportunity to continue to serve you as your pastor. I stand on the shoulders of 5 great pastors, many priests and deacons, trustees, staff members and countless incredible, dedicated parishioners over our 76 years. I am so happy to serve with Fr. Paul and Deacon Paul, our amazing staff, our trustees and all the volunteers who make our parish such a wonderful place to encounter our Lord and grow in our Catholic Faith.

On this September 8th, the birthday of our Mother Mary, I ask her intercession and the intercession of Saint Peter on all of us who make up St. Peter the Apostle Parish. Thank you for your support and your kindness in this time of new beginnings!

In prayer,

Father AJ
