We’d like to share just a few reasons to consider…
The Catholic Church can trace its roots back to Jesus Christ Himself. Because of this and the succession of bishops from the Apostles, Catholics have the assurance that our beliefs are divinely revealed truth and not changing opinions.
The Eucharist. We read the Gospels literally and believe that the bread and wine offered in Mass become the Real Presence of Jesus Christ.
The Catholic Church has survived and even thrived for almost two thousand years, in spite of persecution, opposition, and difficulty.
Because it is rooted in, but also transcends, time and history, the Catholic Church is able to help its members discover and live by God’s unchanging truth.

The Apostles Creed is the oldest statement of our beliefs. Its oldest form dates back to the 2nd century:
I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.
Amen.

We are a sacramental Church. This means that we believe that Jesus — in founding His Church on earth — chose 7 particular ways to give us divine help (which we call grace).
These seven sacraments follow the progression of one’s life and offer particular graces for each stage of life.
We BAPTIZE babies to bring them into our Church and begin the spiritual life. We receive EUCHARIST and RECONCILIATION once a child has reached the age of reason to give them spiritual food for the journey and help form their conscience. We receive CONFIRMATION to strengthen us in our teen years and later, receive grace for our MARRIAGE. Some are called to HOLY ORDERS (priesthood) and all are given the occasion to receive ANOINTING OF THE SICK.
