Welcome, Father Paul!

In case you missed it in Fr. AJ’s letter last week, we’re excited to share that St. Peter’s will have a second priest as of July 1, 2024! Learn more about him from Fr. Paul Houlis himself:

I was born and raised in Garfield, NJ. I’m a graduate of Paramus Catholic High School. I was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Newark on May 28th, 2011. Before entering the seminary I pursued a career in stand-up and acting but The Lord casted me in a much greater role.

I love being a parish priest, having served six wonderful years at St. Paul’s in Ramsey and several other great parishes. I have a passion for preaching, a special love for St. John Paul II’s Theology of the Body (that of which I have extensive training in), and have been effective in ministering to The Church’s youth.

I’m extremely excited to join St. Peter’s parish and am very grateful to Cardinal Tobin for assigning me here. I look forward to meeting you all and becoming part of your parish family.
