Welcome, Allison! (Director of Faith Formation)

As we say farewell to Eileen Hanrahan, we’re pleased to announce that Allison Oblen will soon be joining us as St. Peter’s new Director of Faith Formation! Meet Allison, who has shared a little information about herself:

My name is Allison Oblen and I am so very excited to take on the role of Director of Faith Formation at Saint Peter the Apostle Parish this year!

St. John Paul II told us “It is Jesus that you seek when you dream of happiness; He is waiting for you when nothing else you find satisfies you…” I was raised Catholic but experienced a true “conversion“ in high school, when I realized that my deep desire for happiness could only be found in Christ and his Church. From there I volunteered a year of service, and then decided to study Theology and Religious Education at Franciscan University of Steubenville. My time there truly shaped me as the Catholic and catechist I am today.  I later also went on to get my Master's in Catholic Educational Leadership, which further formed me in my work.

I’ve spent the last 19 years following God’s call to share the beautiful teachings of His Church with the students God has placed before me, as a theology teacher, as a campus minister, and a volunteer in my own parish’s Religious Ed program. I cannot wait to continue that work with you all here at St. Peter’s! Your parish is one that is so clearly vibrant and on fire, and I feel very privileged to become a part of your community.

As I place myself at the service of St. Peter’s, I do so with the chance to learn and grow from you all. I have been praying for you and will continue to do so, and I ask that you do the same for me! I am look forward to meeting you!
