Small Christian Community (SCC) 2024 Advent Groups now forming
The New Evangelization Ministry would like to invite you to join an Advent Small Christian Community (SCC): The Lord is Near
What is an Advent Small Christian Community (SCC)? An Advent Small Christian Community is a group of 8 to 12 parishioners who will meet weekly during the season of Advent and reflect on the scriptures that you will hear during the Sunday Liturgy. (Sessions will take place the week of November 24th through week of December 15th based on your preferred weekday/timing preferences). The community is formed to pray, listen and reflect upon Scripture and Church teaching together, share how the Word of God connects with everyday life, and encourage and support one another. SCCs are one model of church, that is, the communitarian model, and are vibrant, spontaneous groups with little hierarchical structure.
If you are interested in joining an Advent SCC group or would like more information, please sign up here no later than November 18, 2024. Books will be ordered through St. Peter’s and available to your group for $8.95 each.
