Care for the Caregivers
Many of us with families of our own know what it is like to care for our loved ones as well as aging or ill parents/family members. There’s a name for those of us experiencing this life event. We are called “The Sandwich Generation.” We care for our loved ones, do the best we can but often neglect our own needs: physical, emotional and spiritual. Please know that if you are a caregiver, you are not alone! The Center for Disease Control (CDC) statistics show that 1 in 4 baby boomers are caregivers (source).
Because of the prevalence of this situation, Care for the Caregivers was formed to offer spiritual and emotional support as well as resources and information. Sessions are led by Pastoral Associate, Chris Black and Minister to the Sick and Homebound, Donna Grotheer.
