Hallow Prayer Challenge: 33 Days to Morning Glory

As October begins the Month of the Holy Rosary, we invite everyone in our parish to join a 33-day Marian consecration prayer challenge. Marian consecration is dedicating yourself to the Blessed Virgin Mary to grow closer to Jesus Christ. Over 33 days, you’ll reflect on Mary’s virtues, seek her intercession, and prepare for the Act of Consecration.

Pray with us on our parish community page on the Hallow app, starting September 24th. Guided by Sr. Miriam through 33 Days to Morning Glory by Fr. Michael Gaitley, we’ll enter a spiritual retreat inspired by St. Louis de Montfort, St. Maximilian Kolbe, St. Mother Teresa, and Pope St. John Paul II.

Starting late? No problem! Follow the daily readings in order and aim to finish by October 28th, when we’ll celebrate the consecration ceremony at 1pm or 7pm.

How to join:

  1. Download the free Hallow app. (We suggest skipping any trial by clicking the X).

  2. Join our parish community page in the Community tab.

  3. Join the “33 Days to Morning Glory” challenge and start praying with us!

We Are His Witnesses: Parish Listening Session

Register

Earlier this year the Archdiocese of Newark launched We Are His Witnesses, a major pastoral planning initiative shaping the future of our Church and local parishes. Many of you participated in this process by completing the Disciple Maker Index Survey back in May — thank you! Now, the next step for us is here: parish listening sessions. Whether you’ve been following this initiative closely or are hearing about it for the first time, now is the time to lean in.

Cardinal Tobin invites all of the faithful to participate in a parish listening session. In this session you'll learn more about the We Are His Witnesses initiative and our planning area (Northeast Bergen – Planning Area B) and will see multiple draft model options to consider for it. Each session will be led by an Archdiocesan representative and supported by parish leaders, with small group discussion and facilitated large group feedback.

For our parish to properly plan, please register for the St. Peter’s session you plan to attend. Pick whichever date works best — the sessions will be the same.

Session options (6–8pm, Parish Center):

  • Tuesday, October 21

  • Thursday, October 23

You are encouraged to review the planning area information and draft models in preparation for attending our parish session. They are available at www.WeAreHisWitnesses.org.

We look forward to gathering as our Archdiocese continues to listen, discern and act.

Catholic Moms Gathering - Mary and Martha: Creating Space for God in Motherhood

📅 Saturday, November 8, 2025
🕘 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
📍 Parish Center (following Mass in the church)

Register

All moms are invited to a morning of renewal, reflection, and community at our Catholic Moms Gathering. Rooted in the biblical story of Mary and Martha, this half-day retreat offers mothers of all ages and stages—whether raising little ones or guiding adult children—a chance to pause, pray, and find balance between being and doing.

As moms we are in a role that can be driven by worry, anxiety, and unknown, and through this event moms can surrender that to God. The theme, “Mary and Martha: Creating Space for God in Motherhood,” will guide us in moving from constant doing and worrying toward faith, trust, and spiritual connection. Through prayer, teaching, small group discussions, and meditation, moms will be welcomed into a supportive space to connect with God and each other, rediscovering peace, purpose, and grounding in their role as mothers.

Join us Saturday, November 8, 2025, beginning with 9am Mass for those who wish to join, followed by the retreat in the Parish Center until noon. A light breakfast will be served. Childcare for will be offered for ages 4-12, supported by Confirmation students and adult volunteers, so every mom can have the opportunity to fully participate. Cost: $10. Please register by October 29th.

Come be refreshed as we create space for God together in the beautiful calling of motherhood. Please contact Allison Oblen at aoblen@saint-peter.org with any questions.

Children's Liturgy of the Word Begins

Beginning Sunday, September 21st, Children’s Liturgy of the Word will be offered each week at the 10am Mass throughout the school year (with the exception of a few dates). Just before the first reading, children ages 5–11 will be invited to gather in the Parish Center for Scripture, reflection, and prayer in a kid-tailored celebration of the liturgy, returning to church before the Liturgy of the Eucharist.

The experience will be guided by Youth Ministry members Emma L., Charlie H. and Sophia M., and overseen by adults including a priest. During this time, children hear God’s Word in a way they can truly understand, while parents are able to listen more deeply — helping the whole family grow together in faith. We look forward to sharing this special time together!

We meet every second Wednesday of the month at 7:30pm. This month’s meeting will be in the Parish Center. We’ll kick off the 2025-2026 year — reintroducing our purpose, reviewing how we work, discussing strategy, and planning ahead. New and returning faces are always welcome!
