What is the Parish Library

The mission of the Library is to serve all parishioners by providing them with easily accessible reading, tapes and videos that may help them grow in knowledge of their faith, in the history of the church, and in personal spirituality.  The contents of the library consist primarily of works by Catholic authors, or reputable works dealing with Catholicism and contemporary Christian spirituality.

St. Peter’s Parish Library offers books on Jesus, Mary, The Bible, Prayer and Meditation,  the Saints and Good, Healing and Social Concerns. The books have a colored tape attached to the spine of the book indicating the category they are in. You will find an 8 x 10 card on the library table indicating what category each color code represents.

What is required to become a part of this ministry?

If you are a reader, particularly of spiritual books, please help St. Peter’s Library in the selection of books added to the Library.   Your input will be appreciated.  We also welcome more people to cover the library after the Masses on Sunday morning so that one person serves just once a month.

If any parishioner who has read an interesting book from the library’s collection and would like to write a brief review of this book, we would be happy to publish it, either in the Weekly Bulletin or Parish Newsletter.

You can also volunteer to assist parishioners in book selections after Sunday Masses.
