Women’s Cornerstone 2020
October 16-17, 2020
What is Cornerstone?
Did you ever wish you could stop the world for a day, catch your breath and have a chance to reflect on what’s really important in your life? Cornerstone will provide just that … the opportunity to strengthen your faith, come closer to Christ, and grow in a Christian community.
Since 1996, over 800 men and women of the parish have participated in the Cornerstone experience. People from all walks of life have sought this opportunity to gain a greater understanding of themselves and what it means to be part of a Christian community. After their experience, most feel that they have grown spiritually, come closer to the Lord, and developed a greater connection to St. Peter’s community.
This is a one-time experience. No one attends Cornerstone twice, which makes it a unique experience for everyone.
What is required to become part of this ministry?
All you need to bring is an open mind and a willing heart with:
- A desire to meet and interact with others in a warm, welcome environment.
- A willingness to listen to God.
- An opportunity to share your faith experiences
- A longing for personal reflection, reconciliation and Eucharist.
- An interest in knowing the people with whom you are sharing this experience.
What is the time commitment? This is a one-time experience. It is only 27 hours out of your life and usually held during Lent. No one attends Cornerstone twice, which makes it a unique experience for everyone. Cornerstone activities begin on Friday at 6:30 p.m. and end on Saturday at 9:00 p.m. You’ll stay overnight at St. Peter’s. You’ll want for nothing
How can you sign up?
Parishioners can use a printable brochure/sign-up form or the online registration form, which are made available each year via our home page in the Cornerstone box under “Here’s What’s Happening at St. Peter’s.” Sign-Up forms are activated about 2 months prior to the Cornerstone weekends, which usually take place during Lent.
A suggested offering of $60.00 will help to defray the cost of your meals, accommodations, and materials. However, please do not hesitate to register if this amount is a problem.
The Cornerstone Women’s and Men’s Teams are comprised of parishioners who have attended a Cornerstone retreat experience.
The teams meet weekly, April through June, and twice a month, on Monday (women) or Wednesday (men) evenings at 7:30 p.m., September through March.
This time of formation and preparation culminates on the Cornerstone retreat weekends, scheduled during the Lenten season.
