All Souls Mass of Remembrance 11/2/23

Thursday, November 2, 2023 • 7:30pm • Church & Livestream

Our Catholic tradition is rich in its belief that our loved ones who have died are not removed from our care. By prayer we accompany them and assist them in their final journey to the Kingdom of God. On All Souls Day, we remember all those who have died.

Dark church filled with people holding candles

On Thursday, November 2nd, at 7:30pm, a mass will be celebrated to remember our deceased family and friends. In a candle-lighting ceremony, the names of all the deceased who have had funerals in the parish in the last year will be remembered. The mass will be livestreamed here.

If you had a family member die in the last year who was not buried from St. Peter’s and you will be present for the Mass, please email the name to cblack@saint-peter.org or call the rectory at (201) 261-3366 by Thursday, October 26th. Your loved one’s name will be read and someone in your family will receive a candle in remembrance.

The Book of the Names of the Dead

Located near the Baptismal Font you will find The Book of the Names of the Dead which already contains the names of those who have died and were buried from St. Peter’s. We invite you to enter the names of your deceased loved ones who will be prayed for during the month of November, the month of All Souls.

For families enrolled in Faith Formation 2023-2024, attending this mass counts towards the Prayer menu category.
