Children’s Liturgy of the Word

Children's Liturgy of the Word is offered during select masses throughout the year. During those masses, children are (optionally) dismissed from the pews to participate in a kids-tailored program that includes all the elements that are normally experienced during Liturgy of the Word at mass. It's geared towards children 1st through 5th grades.

The proclamation of the Gospel is presented in language that young children can easily understand, giving the children an opportunity to reflect on God's Word and explore how it connects to their lives. The reflection lead by the adult leader is in dialogue style. Children have the opportunity to engage in a conversation about the scripture. Prayer and petitions are prayed in a simpler language. Song and ritual action are included.
